Program Description / Statement of Need:

This course is specifically designed with the magnetic resonance technologist in mind. With the FDA approval of numerous new MR contrast agents, the options - and complexity -of MR contrast agent administration and imaging sequence considerations have drastically expanded. With so much information - and misinformation - regarding the usage of MR contrast agents in MR imaging, angiographic, and perfusion studies today, this symposium is meant to serve as an interactive discussion to understanding MR contrast agent usage today. Although it will focus on the agents utilized predominantly for Neuroradiology MR imaging as well as MR angiography and perfusion MR, and Breast MR---general MR contrast agent concepts will be covered that apply to all FDA-approved MR contrast agents available today.

Target Audience:

The content of this Contrast Enhanced MRI Program is intended for healthcare professionals who work in the MRI environment. These individuals include MRI Technologists, Imaging Nurses, MRI Researchers, and Others.

5. Oral (Gastromark)

6. Gadolinium (for perfusion imaging of the brain)

1. Others (fatty liquids, Blueberry Juice, Kaopectate and Others …)

Accreditation and CE Credit Statements for Technologists

This program has been approved for 1.0 hour of Category A CE credit as designated by the Society for MR Radiographers & Technologists (SMRT) RCEEM.

Please Note: This activity was previously offered within a combined CE Module and cannot be used again in this or any subsequent biennium if completed previously.
